Opening a space for meaning, awareness, and healing

Systemic constellation work provides an experiential field to make visible the subtle relational and generational dynamics at play in personal struggles. By connecting individual somatic sensations with their broader systemic context, this work nurtures clarity, discernment, and profound inner repositioning.

Systemic & family constellations – Areas of application

Family and systemic constellations offer an experiential exploration of internal, relational, and multi-generational patterns. Through spatial representation, somatic awareness, and mindful perception, we examine situations from fresh angles to support clarity, emotional relief, and lasting integration.

Internal parts work

A constellation can explore the relationship between different parts of oneself, bringing hidden tensions, conflicting drives, inner resources, or blockages into tangible form. It provides concrete clarity for dynamics that are often difficult to verbalize.

Family of origin

It illuminates your place within the family, inherited loyalties, hidden burdens, and recurring intergenerational patterns. The aim is to differentiate clearly what belongs to your personal journey from what belongs to past generations.

Current relationships

Couples, friendships, and parenting bonds can be explored to clarify expectations, set healthy boundaries, and transform unconscious emotional entanglements into conscious connection.

Professional & career dynamics

Constellations can clarify how you navigate your professional sphere: relationships with colleagues or leadership, team positioning, feeling legitimate, finding purpose, or navigating vocational transitions.

Life themes and transitions

Themes such as grief, major life decisions, self-worth, spiritual orientation, or recurring life blockages can be brought into the field. This opens a compassionate space for reflection and alignment with your authentic path.

My approach: safety, regulation, and integration

I am Zihang Mao, an integrative therapist and wellness practitioner specialized in trauma resolution, working with clients in English, French, and Chinese.

My Chinese given name means “purple journey”—evoking a voyage across meaningful waters. This mirrors my therapeutic mission: honoring each person’s pacing and providing a sturdy vessel for transformation.

My constellation facilitation weaves together principles from Somatic Experiencing® (SE), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness, prioritizing nervous system safety and somatic regulation.

Whenever appropriate, we also welcome reflections on meaning, consciousness, and the spiritual dimensions of lived experience.

I prioritize exploration over interpretation, and sustainable integration over overwhelming catharsis.

My practice adheres to ongoing professional supervision and continuous professional development.

Ethical guidelines

Family constellations explore subjective lived experiences and systemic perceptions, rather than historical facts or absolute truths.

Due to the emotional activation that can arise, constellations require careful pacing aligned with each individual's capacity for nervous system regulation. Individual sessions provide a gentle, contained, and secure alternative when emotional sensitivity or vulnerability is high. If needed, complementary psychological support is encouraged to ensure ongoing care.

Family constellations do not replace medical treatment or comprehensive psychiatric therapy, nor are they meant to dictate major decisions. The facilitator’s role is to offer an ethical, safe container that empowers your own awareness, discernment, and healing.
